Frequently Asked Questions
A: The typical show runs about 60-70 minutes.
Q: What types of magic do you perform?
A: Jeff’s shows include a mix of different types of magic, including cards, ropes, coins, mentalism and other non-standard props.
Q: How can people who are not sitting near the “close-up” magic see what is happening?
A: For typical close-up magic, such as cards and coins, Jeff performs at a table at the front of the room where a video camera is positioned above the table. A clear, close up view of the magic is displayed on a large screen. There are no bad seats.
Q: Is audience participation involved?
A: Yes, very much so. Volunteers are solicited from people attending. Jeff walks amongst the tables as he performs many of his routines.
Q: Does Jeff do shows for children?
A: Jeff does not do children’s show; however, the content of his shows is “G-rated”.
Q: Are the magic shows expensive?
A: You can see the prices on the “Rates” page. When you consider the cost per person, the shows are very inexpensive. You are getting over an hour of entertainment for just a few dollars per person. That’s less than a movie ticket, and you are getting live entertainment.
Q: Are audience members expected to tip?
A: No, tips are not openly solicited, but some audience members occasionally tip because they enjoy the show so much that they want to show their appreciation. That’s totally at their discretion.
Q: If your group has already had a magic show, is it worth hiring a magician again?
A: Absolutely! The Villages Magic Club has several magicians who perform locally. Each magician in the club does a completely different show from the others. While some groups ask for a repeat performer, others request a different magician.
